What Is iSecretShop?

iSecretShop is a mystery shopping app where you could be asked to do any number of things, for example one gig might have you go into a hardware store, answer a series of questions about the parking lot, how many staff members are on site, if a certain item is in stock, whether a certain item is in stock, you might have to take photos with your iphone. Some projects are more involved than others, some gigs you might have to buy a product, actually purchase a product yourself but you would be compensated in that case, usually.
You might even be asked to do an exit interview which I don't recommend doing, that's basically where you stand outside the store and you wait for shoppers to leave and you try to stop them and get them to do an interview with you. That would be pretty annoying to people especially if they're in a rush, so I don't recommend doing that, you might get a lot of weird looks but stuff like that.

Then oftentimes you'll need to give a report on your experience at the store, it all just depends on the client because how it works is you're not doing these gigs for iSecretShop, you're doing it for third party clients who come to iSecretShop and they want to improve their business, make sure their staff are doing a good job and you're kind of spying on their staff but in a good way, I guess, we debate the ethics of that.

How Does iSecretShop Work?

There are some gigs you can do online from the comfort of your home but those tend to not as pay as well and they would typically be online purchases where you're testing out the product but you wouldn't really be earning money, you'd just be getting a free product. So hopefully it's a product that you would use anyway. Otherwise, it won't do you much good but yeah, it's a free product, you would be compensated for your purchase at least.

How much does iSecretShop pay?

That's the real question! Well, again iSecretShop won't be the ones paying you, it'll be these businesses and it really varies. Some jobs will pay ten dollars, some pay up to fifty dollars and usually the ones where you have to go inside, drive into a building will pay more versus the online ones.

How You Can Get Paid on iSecretShop?

How you get paid is typically through paypal, although some of these third-party businesses they might not use paypal for whatever reason, they might want to do a direct bank transfer, so it just all depends. Or even a check if they're very old school.

I don't think this app is exclusive to the US but most of the opportunities seem to be US-based and that's the case with most of these apps.
I'm sure if you're in the UK and Canada that would work too, very normal for these sort of apps.

They do have an actual app, not just a website, an app you could download on ios or android.

So I would say if you're out and about and you're running some errands and you want to check to see if there's exit gigs available then maybe use it that way but I don't know if I would go pre-planning gigs, like say "Okay, today I'm gonna drive here, drive there" I think it's something you want to do more off the cuff spontaneously, like "Okay I'm already out and about, let's check to see. Oh, there's one year by, it's a block away and it's gonna pay me 15 bucks might as well". At least that's how I would use it.

Overall, iSecretShop is a perfectly legitimate opportunity(at the time of this review). Are you gonna get rich doing this sort of work? Absolutely not, these mystery shopping gig at websites - apps aren't designed to make you register. Only design to earn you a teensy tiny bit of money and that's it, so even if you signed up to all these mystery shopping websites, you're not gonna build a full-time income out of it (even a part-time income I would say) that's all. But if you want to have some fun with it and earn a few extra bucks then sure, go ahead.
